Henderson has two artificial lakes, Railroad Lake and Lake Las Vegas. The first, Railroad Lake, is located at Cornerstone Park, and the lake is mostly just for scenery and for wildlife to enjoy, but it is a great place for a long walk. At Lake Las Vegas, you’ll find a rowing club and you can rent stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and pedal boats. Oh, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam also are only about 30 minutes from Henderson, and we definitely recommend a visit.

Sure, the Las Vegas Strip is just a few miles away, but Henderson offers a few unique offerings that grown-ups will enjoy. There are several casinos, such as Sunset Station, the M Resort and Emerald Island. You can sample local beers, wines and spirits at the Artisan Booze District.
