We are excited to announce that Chad Fisher, a culinary arts teacher at Western High School, was voted “Favorite Teacher” during a surprise presentation for Teacher Appreciation Week. Move 4 Less sponsored the contest, and nominators cast 1,495 votes for 525 local teachers. Nominators had to explain why the teacher they nominated made them smile.
Fisher won with 127 votes, and Move 4 Less presented him with a $1,500 Visa card and a special Teacher Appreciation Week basket filled with other prizes at school in front of his students and staff. His wife also came for the surprise.
He has taught for eight years in the Clark County School District, four of those years at Western. Before joining the school district, Fisher worked as a chef in various locations throughout Europe. And his students love the energy he brings to the classroom.
“Mr. Fisher is a very cool teacher and interacts with all of his students,” said Leslie Cabrera, a student at Western High School. “He is funny and doesn’t make his class boring. Everyone participates and enjoys his class.
Fisher’s nominations were filled with students noting that he brings a smile to their faces by caring about both the culinary arts and his students as individuals. He says that he shifted to a career in teaching because he wanted to give back.
Thank you to Move 4 Less for supporting all the teachers, and I can’t thank my students enough for nominating me,” said Fisher. “Their responses and feelings make teaching worth every moment, especially when you realize the effects you have on your students and others around you.
Recognizing teachers like Fisher, who give so much to our local students and community, is why Move 4 Less created the Favorite Teacher Award for Teacher Appreciation Week.
We understand the important role teachers play in educating our children, and we’re happy to recognize a dedicated educator with our Teacher Appreciation Week contest,” said Maggie Kolesar, Move 4 Less general sales manager. “Our team enjoyed reading about so many great teachers in our community, including Chad Fisher’s many nominations. It was evident why he makes his students smile.
Congratulations to Chad Fisher and all the fantastic teachers nominated this year! Thank you for all you do for the students in our community and for helping put a smile on so many of their faces.
At Move 4 Less, our motto is “Smile! It’s moving day!” We stand behind our mission to put smiles on as many faces as possible, and we enjoy recognizing folks in our community who give back selflessly and help make others smile.
